Nonwovens manufacturer Shalag Group recently announced that its new advanced manufacturing plant in South Hill, Virginia, USA has officially started operation. This major investment will not only bring 52 new jobs to the local area, but will also significantly increase Shalag's production capacity in the US market and further strengthen its ability to serve North American customers.
Shalag is focusing on its distinctive 3D Hybrid technology in the new factory. This technology combines aperturing and embossing to achieve ultra-soft touch on nonwoven materials while also having excellent strength and absorption.
This advanced material solution not only takes into account comfort and functionality, but can also be widely used in: personal hygiene products (such as: the top/bottom layer of baby diapers, adult care products, etc.), high-efficiency filtration materials (such as: air filters in HVAC systems).
In addition to the new base in Virginia, Shalag also has production bases in North Carolina, Israel and Italy, building a solid global production capacity network to support it in providing stable and customized nonwoven solutions to customers in multiple regions. “The opening of the new plant in Virginia is not only an important step in our global expansion strategy, but also a reflection of our continued investment in technological innovation and customer service,” Shalag said in a statement. “We look forward to bringing more value to our customers in the United States and around the world through higher-quality nonwoven products.”
As the global demand for high-performance, soft nonwoven materials continues to grow, Shalag’s landing in the southern United States and promoting the industrialization of 3D Hybrid technology will undoubtedly lay a solid foundation for its further expansion in key areas such as hygiene products and filtration materials. For industry users, this new plant also heralds faster and more localized support and services in the future.
