Lenzing AG, a leading global fiber supplier, recently announced an additional investment of approximately €15 million in its home facility in Lenzing, Austria, to expand its production capacity for high-end viscose fibers. This investment is part of the company's previously announced €100 million long-term competitiveness enhancement plan, aimed at strengthening the stability of its Austrian production base while further driving its growth in the global hygiene and personal care markets.
Lenzing stated that the expansion will focus on its premium trilobal cross-section fiber, Veocel Viscostar. This fiber, with its unique trilobal structure, outperforms traditional viscose fibers in absorption performance tests (such as Syngina), significantly improving the absorption efficiency and user experience of feminine hygiene products like tampons. As global demand for high-performance, sustainable raw materials continues to rise, Lenzing hopes to better meet the long-term order needs of its strategic clients by expanding its production capacity.
